January 9: Gelf's Varsity Letters

Gelf's Varsity Letters sports reading series returns to New York on Friday, January 9, at 8 p.m. At this free monthly event at a Lower East Side bar, hosted by Gelf, John Capouya, George Kimball, and Seth Wickersham will read from and talk about their work, and take questions. Capouya is the author of a biography about the outrageous pro wrestler Gorgeous George. Kimball's book chronicles the last great era in boxing. And Wickersham's NFL coverage for ESPN has delivered insight about pro-football players on and off the field. (See photos and videos from the event.)
