November 6: Gelf's Varsity Letters

Gelf's Varsity Letters sports reading series returns to New York on Thursday, November 6, at 8 p.m. At this free monthly event at a Lower East Side bar, hosted by Gelf, Buzz Bissinger, Drew Magary, and Dan Steinberg will read from and talk about their work, and take questions. Bissinger is the author of two best-selling sports books, about high-school football in Texas and Cardinals manager Tony La Russa. Magary is an NFL blogger and author of a new handbook for pro athletes described as "funny, completely uninformative, and horrifyingly profane." And Steinberg is a sports blogger for the Washington Post who covers everything from Gilbert Arenas's million-dollar pool to Chris Cooley's genitalia.
