Nov. 23: Grantland Appreciation Night

To accommodate the high number of people interested in attending, Varsity Letters is moving to the larger space at Le Poisson Rouge and to a different start time.

Doors to LPR's main space open at 9:00 pm. The event will start at 9:30pm.

New York’s sports reading series returns to the Gallery at Le Poisson Rouge with a night devoted to the recently shuttered site Grantland—an indispensable outlet for high-quality writing about sports and pop culture over the past four years. Come show your appreciation for the site's contributors as they read from their own and each others' work.

Speakers include:

Rafe Bartholomew
Brian Phillips
Holly Anderson
Jason Concepcion
Amos Barshad
Jordan Ritter Conn
Zach Lowe
Ben Lindbergh
Andy Greenwald
Rembert Browne
Jonah Keri
...and more!

Space at the venue is limited, so please RSVP here.
People who have RSVP'd previously or submitted to the waitlist do not need to do so again. This event is first come, first served. RSVP DOES NOT GUARANTEE ENTRY. You are encouraged to arrive early to guarantee your space. When the event is near capacity, preference may be given to those who have signed up.

Doors to LPR's Gallery will open at 8:00 pm and attendees may access the main space at 9:00 pm. The event will start at 9:30pm.

If you are unable to attend the event in person, you can follow along with the event's livestream.

Several of the speakers responded to a Gelf questionnaire, which can be read here.

Can't even say how much I miss Grantland. As an NBA junkie of the first order (fan since 1955), I especially am missing Zack Lowe. Besides tweets, what else are you doing now? Your articles were absurdly well written. Your podcasts were both fun and illuminating. Wishing you and all your ex Grantland brethren nothing but the best.
