New York's Varsity Letters sports reading series, launched earlier this year by Dan Shanoff, returns on December 6 with a new affiliation: Gelf Magazine's Carl Bialik will be hosting the event, where some of today's best sportswriters will read from their works.
We have a great lineup: the tale of Curt Flood's fight to bring economic freedom to baseball, the untold story of Bobby Thomson's legendary 1951 home run, and a chronicle of a season spent on the bench with the Phoenix Suns. And Gelf plans to publish interviews with the authors about their books, so check back here to read more about next month's selections.
Admission is FREE. Please help us spread the word. Event details below.
