The Non-Motivational Speaker Series returns to New York on Thursday, May 29 at 8 p.m. Curated and hosted by Adam Rosen, this monthly event features an above-average lineup of decidedly non-motivating authorities, each presenting views alternative and overlooked on subjects that define our bizarrely postmodern (or is it postmodernly bizarre?) life. A different theme will be tackled clothesline-style each month, including, but not limited to, comedy, amateur pornography, culture jamming, and the anti-Green Movement.
Religion will be this month's topic. Featured speakers are Daniel Radosh [interview here], New Yorker contributor, contributing editor to The Week, and author of Rapture Ready: Adventures in the Parallel Universe of Christian Pop Culture; and Louis Ferrante [interview here], author of Unlocked, a true story of Ferrante's life as a member of the Gambino crime family, 8 1/2-year federal prison inmate, and convert to Orthodox Judaism.
The event will start at 8 pm at the Happy Ending Lounge, and is free.
