Gelf's Varsity Letters sports reading series returns on Thursday, November 5, at 7:30 p.m. At this free monthly event in DUMBO, Brooklyn, hosted by Gelf and Jan Larsen Art, Shawn Boburg, Jeff Leen, and Tony Leonardo, will read from and talk about their work, and take questions. Boburg will offer a glimpse into the past and inside the mind of mercurial Dodgers star Manny Ramirez; Leen will relate the colorful history of women's wrestling champion and pioneer Mildred Burke; and Leonardo will expound on the oddball culture of ultimate frisbee.
