Gelf's Varsity Letters sports reading series returns on Thursday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m., at Manhattan's Bergino Baseball Clubhouse. At this free monthly event, hosted by Gelf, Harvey Frommer, Jonah Keri, and Lang Whitaker will read from and talk about their work. Frommer will hit the highlights of Fenway Park history, Keri will explain how the Tampa Bay Rays have contended despite a small budget and limited fan base, and Whitaker will trace the interwoven history of his own life and Braves manager Bobby Cox's.
