The way things are going for Barry Bonds this season, even the things said about him that sound nice are, in fact, insults. Take this quote from an unnamed American League general manager, said to Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci about the gastrointestinal effects of seeing Bonds in the opposing batter's box:
"The body is starting to fail him now. He'll still hit his home runs every now and then, but he doesn't scare me as much. Guys like Miguel Tejada, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Jason Giambi this year, Vlad Guerrero, I call them diarrhea hitters. They give you diarrhea every time they come up because they're so scary. Bonds is not that guy anymore."
Gelf calls the AL GM a vomit interview. He makes you vomit every time he comes up to give an interview because is disgusting. Though, to his credit, also quite colorful.
