In case you were wonderingand we know you wereJoe "the Plumber" Wurzelbacher is not the only plumber with an opinion on politics. When Gelf set out last week to find other ordinary American plumbers, we encountered the website of Bob the Plumber, who, while now retired, is actually a licensed plumber, unlike the more-famous McCain-supporter-cum-possible-country-star.
We decided to ask Bob what he thinks about Joe and the election in general. Here's what he had to say:
What About Bob? Siggy, Anna, and Fay want to know, 'What about the issues that really need attention?'Too much attention continues to be focused on a man who lied about being a plumber in an attempt to paint Obama into a corner of possible tax scenarios. Looking into my magic toilet bowl, I foresee media shame when excavation reveals that this event was constructed by McCain staff to give the absent-minded senator something to talk about in the final debate; something to indicate he still has an electrifying, if any, pulse. In-depth reporters, like yourself, mistook the lure for a plumb bob, grabbed on to it and continue to sink away from discussing the important political fixtures.
Apparently John McCain will have to work harder than he may have thought for the critical __ The Plumber vote.
