In addition to imparting lessons on "Bmore" Club, Scottie B. spoke about his family and his own history, reflecting on how a difficult, gritty adolescence brought him into the world of hip hop. The Non-Motivational Speaker Series Returns February 26

Baltimore takes on New York at this month's Non-Motivational Speaker Series in the Lower East Side, on Thursday, February 26, at 8 p.m. Invading Baltimoreans include godfather of the local "Bmore Club" dance sound and M.I.A.-remixer DJ Scottie B; co-founder of the avant-garde WHAM City! artist-collective and Baltimore City Paper cartoonist Dina Kelberman; and bookmaker-turned-book writer Charlie Stella, contributor to the acclaimed Baltimore Noir crime anthology.
