Gelf is featuring interviews with all three:

Gus Alfieri, author of Lapchick about the legendary former basketball player and coach, talks about his eight-year project to revive Lapchick's name, and how it's already bearing dividends, just weeks after the book's publication.

Carlo DeVito, author of Wellington, discusses the longtime New York Giants owner's influence in shaping the modern NFL, and what he would have made of this year's inconsistent squad.

Cecil Harris, author of Breaking the Ice, tells Gelf about the pioneers who broke the NHL's color barrier, why the league hasn't yet found its Tiger Woods, and the NBA's perverse relationship with prison culture.
