January 9: A History of Sports

Varsity Letters returns to The Gallery at Le Poisson Rouge on Monday, January 9th with a night that looks at the big picture of sports. Gary Belsky and Neil Fine will be reading from and discussing their New York Times bestseller On the Origins of Sports: The Early History and Original Rules of Everybody’s Favorite Games. Belsky and Fine served as the editor in chief and executive editor, respectively, of ESPN The Magazine, and are the founding partners of the editorial consulting firm Elland Road Partners.

They'll be joined by Cait Murphy, an editor at McKinsey & Company, and author of A History of American Sports in 100 Objects.
