The Non-Motivational Speaker Series returns to New York on Thursday, July 24, at 8 p.m. Curated and hosted by Adam Rosen, this monthly event features an above-average lineup of decidedly non-motivating authorities, each presenting views alternative and overlooked on a veritable goody bag of topics. A different theme will be tackled clothesline-style each month, including, but not limited to, comedy, amateur pornography, culture jamming, and religion.
Taxi Driver Confessions will be this month's theme. Taking us for a ride deep into the bowels of Gotham are Famous Fat Dave Freedenberg [interview here], self-described pickle man/ cheesemonger/ hot dog vendor/ bread truck driver/ food writer/ licensed tour guide/ cabbie who has eaten it all; Melissa Plaut [interview here], a New York City taxi driver and the author of Hack: How I Stopped Worrying About What to Do with My Life and Started Driving a Yellow Cab; and Adil Aboussalham [interview here], recipient of the Taxi and Limousine Commission's 2007 Hero Cabby award.
The event will start at 8 pm at the Happy Ending Lounge, and is free.
