The Watchdog of Cable News

Steve Rendall of the media monitoring organization FAIR talks about the corporate bias inherent in cable news and elsewhere.

Any liberal worth his arugula can—and will—tell you that much of Fox News's "Fair and Balanced" coverage is actually fraudulent and biased. But it takes a true believer to sift through pages of transcripts and hours of footage of Glenn Beck just to show you how biased he is. Steve Rendall, senior analyst for Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR), took on the challenge, duly noting outrageous statement after outrageous statement from what he calls Beck's "bizarre barking rant" of a show.

Rendall has been working at FAIR for more than 21 years, and is the co-host of their national radio show, CounterSpin. FAIR is a media watchdog organization whose aim is to sniff out corporate bias. While admittedly left-leaning, FAIR and Rendall scan the full spectrum of the media for instances of questionable journalism—and they usually find something to get upset about.

Re: GEICO Claim #04388974701010016

This is my 4th communication concerning this matter. Like my first communication, it serves to highlight a lack of professionalism by GEICO in handling my claim. I need fast and immediate action. The “Fly By Night” Garza Collison of New Mexico, a company recommended by GEICO, went out of business while repairing my vehicle.

Further investigation determined that former owner Pete Garza, retitled my vehicle in his own name, and with my address. Pete Garza is presently driving my vehicle around Albuquerque. Will GEICO only react to a lawsuit and is that what it takes to get someone in the corporate office to do something in my favor.

GEICO-NM is presently meeting with Pete Garza, trying to negotiate with this fraudster to give my vehicle back to me. GEICO should be filing suit against Mr. Garza. GEICO should be representing me and getting my vehicle back or paying me for what my vehicle is worth. I am without transportation now for seven (7) months!!!!
